you might not know this, but I’m kind of a big deal…
Today I went out on an audition to do a series of web baised videos for a large Redmond based software company that’s getting ready to release a new version of their flagship product. I’m not sure exactly how much more specific I’m allowed to be at this point, but the results were very positive, and it looks like I’m going to be involved in an internet marketing campaign for said product. This will probably wind up being super awesome.
ugh…
I’ve been busy as of late, though not with anything terribly interesting. Anyway, I’ve missed the last 2 comics, and I’ll probably miss the third. Perhaps I’ll give up on the idea entirely. Perhaps not. I’ll cross that bridge (or abandon it) when I come to it.
Between writing a script, class, editing and auditioning for a few projects here in the area, I’m short on time and energy for cobbling together a webcomic (and trust me, I’ve been cobbling). Instead, I’ve decided to devote myself to a side project that I’ve taken up once before, with somewhat interesting/amusing results.
Back to random online dating! I’m not sure what parameters I should set for myself at this point, beyond the ones that I had before when I ran this experiment: ask out anyone who seems even remotely interesting, and don’t say no to anyone who asks.
I am so screwed.
april fools…
Man, I’ve been busy as all get out. What with moving and job searching and waking up every day around the crack of noon. I haven’t really had time (or the internet access) to get on here.
Tomorrow is Friday, once again a traditional update day. So far, I only have one panel finished, but I’m hoping to crank the rest of it out during the day and get it uploaded before it’s time to podcast with Ethan for Geek Beer (and possibly with the guys over at Free Beer) that night.
In the meantime, I can offer you my April Fools Day prank on Ethan. Things went terribly wrong.
as always, I blame Cori…
I just woke up, and noticed an ever so slight tingling sensation in the back of my throat, so at least I know it’s coming: I’m going to get sick.
At least I’m getting sick at the worst possible time imaginable, since I need to finish packing, cleaning, and be moved out of my apartment in the next 2 days. So that’s cool.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu
brrr…
I shaved my mighty beard and now my face is freezing cold.
shit…
Starting tomorrow I will not have regular access to the internet. This will continue until probably the first week of next month or so at least.
Now, not having the internet doesn’t mean as much for me as it used to as little as a year ago. Thanks to my amazing Jesus phone, I can still update my blog, check all my favorite websites (ok, maybe not ALL of my favorite websites… sorry YouPorn), get my email and update my facebook status.
What I can not do is update my comic. At least as far as I know. Though I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there is some kind of fancy FTP client for the iPhone that I could use to upload images to the server.
Anyway, there might not be a comic on Friday. I know you all are HEART BROKEN. But you must find a way to be strong.
on my way to riches and fame…
Hey, lookit! Here I am in the background of a photo in the newspaper! How awesome am I?
this is the future…
Apparently when you mix pitch correction, temp adjustments, non-linear editing systems and youtube, the results are quite fantastic.
Through the use of some very clever editing, some crazy guy from the internet has managed to take the mash-up to the next level, creating wholly new musical works from independant sound clips found in youtube videos.
This to me is what I see as the future of digitial media. Perhaps with out intending to, or even realizing it, this guy has single handedly created a new artform, using systems and tools that didn’t even exist a few years ago.
piss…
It seems I have lost the pen for my wacom tablet/computer. I only really use the tablet portion of my PC for drawing either at my desk or the dining room table, and it’s neither of those places. The only thing I can think of is that we used it as a prop for the last film we shot for my film class, and one of the actors figured out how to pop the pen out and somehow forgot to put it back in.
I guess it’s a good thing I bought those cartooning pens…
fancy…
So I purchased some cartooning pens, ink and a sketch pad today while hiding from an ex in the University Book Store. Instead of attempting to end my own life in my pesticide filled apartment, I went up to the roof of my building to try out my latest purchase:
It was ugly. It took me a while to figure out which of the nibs I could reasonably use (one of them I never even managed to get to make a line on the paper), and of those, which of them even gave me a line that I liked.
Once I got that down, I sketched out a quick drawing and inked it out:
I’m not happy with this, per se, but it does serve as a nice proof of concept. The next comic I draw I’ll probably try to do the whole thing (or at least the characters) hand drawn, and then do some minor corrections and coloring on my computer. I’m not sure if it’s any faster to draw these things out by hand (it’s probably a lot slower at this point), but I’m curious about how it would turn out.
